What to Expect Before, During & After Your Roof Replacement 🏡

🏠 Welcome to the Rescue Roofing family

First — thank you for trusting Rescue Roofing with your home.

We know replacing your roof is a big decision, and our goal is simple:

No surprises. No stress. Just a smooth, professional experience from start to finish.

This guide explains what happens next, how to prepare, what to expect during installation, and how we wrap everything up at completion.

A quick read now helps everything go smoothly later.

âś… What Happens Next?

After signing:

Within a few days

  • Materials are ordered

  • Your install date is scheduled

1–2 days before install

  • We confirm weather

  • You’ll receive a reminder call or text

Roofing is weather-dependent, so dates may shift slightly for rain or safety — but we’ll always keep you updated.

âś… How to Prepare Your Home

Roof replacement is a one-day construction project. It can be a little loud while we work, but we take many steps to protect your property.

A little preparation helps everything move quickly and safely.

Outside

Please move or clear:

  • Vehicles from driveway and near the home

  • Patio furniture & grills

  • Potted plants

  • Decorations or fragile items

Inside

Roofing creates some vibration similar to light construction.

We recommend:

  • Removing fragile wall hangings

  • Securing valuables on shelves

  • Planning for pets or small children (it gets loud)

âś… Install Day Timeline

We start early so we can finish early.

Arrival

Our crew typically arrives between 6:00–6:30 AM

Completion

Most homes are finished between 3:00–6:00 PM, depending on size and complexity.

Starting early helps us finish the same day and minimize disruption to your evening.

âś… Morning Setup & Access (Important)

When we arrive, we first focus on protecting your property before work begins.

Your dedicated Project Manager will:

  • Knock and introduce themselves

  • Walk you through the plan for the day

  • Answer questions

  • Confirm access

Please have ready:

âś” Cars moved out of the driveway/street
âś” Driveway space for our dump trailer and material delivery
âś” Backyard access (gate unlocked)

We install protective tarps and our Catch-All protection system around your home to protect landscaping, siding, and windows. Full access helps us set this up correctly and keeps the project running smoothly.

🔨 What It Will Sound Like

Roofing is naturally loud.

You’ll hear:

  • hammering

  • scraping

  • materials moving

  • footsteps on the roof

This is completely normal and temporary.

Many homeowners choose to run errands or work remotely that day.

✅ What’s Completely Normal After a New Roof

Roofing is heavy construction, so a few temporary things may look different at first. This doesn’t mean anything is wrong.

🌡 Cold Weather Shingles (Important)

If your roof is installed during cooler temperatures (below ~60°F), you might notice:

  • shingles slightly raised

  • edges not perfectly flat

  • small “wavy” areas

This is expected.

Shingles have an adhesive strip on the back that seals to your roof using heat from the sun. As temperatures warm up, they naturally soften, seal, and lay flat.

No repair is needed — they settle on their own.

This happens on nearly every cold-weather installation.

🏠 Minor Dust or Texture Flakes (Older Homes Only)

In some older homes — especially those with 20–40+ year drywall or textured ceilings — the vibration from tear-off can occasionally loosen tiny bits of dust or ceiling texture.

This is uncommon and typically only happens in older materials that are already brittle.

It’s not damage to the home or drywall failure — just small loose particles shaking free.

A quick wipe or sweep usually takes care of it.

Most homeowners never experience this, but we like to mention it upfront so there are no surprises.

âś… Cleanup & Final Walkthrough

When the installation is complete, we don’t just pack up and leave.

Your Project Manager will:

âś” Perform a full quality inspection
âś” Thoroughly clean the property
âś” Take photos of the completed work
âś” Walk the project with you
âś” Answer any questions

We’ll show you photos of areas you can’t easily see so you know everything was installed correctly.

Nothing is rushed — we want you completely comfortable and confident before we leave.

đź“‹ Warranty & Paperwork

After the walkthrough, we’ll provide:

  • Your warranty certificate

  • Insurance documentation (if needed for your carrier)

  • Project Photos

You’ll also sign a simple Completion Certificate confirming the project is finished to your satisfaction.

đź’ł Payment at Completion

Payment is collected at completion following the final walkthrough.

If paying directly:

Final payment is due the same day.

If financing:

The signed completion certificate is all we need to release funds from the finance company — no extra steps required.

🏠 Please Plan to Be Home

We strongly recommend a homeowner be present at completion so we can:

  • review everything together

  • answer questions immediately

  • provide documents

  • finalize payment smoothly

This helps ensure everything is wrapped up the same day with no loose ends.
